Wayfair
At Wayfair, Christopher transformed services, delivery, and retail operations into a cohesive growth engine. His work spans internal marketplace tooling, customer experience, business incubation, and leadership across teams—culminating in Wayhome's growth to $100M+ annual revenue.
The problem
Teams relied on spreadsheets, siloed tools, and disconnected delivery flows. The opportunity: transform operational patchwork into a durable, omnichannel growth engine for customers, providers, and the business.
Org footprint
Lower funnel, checkout, and customer-facing service choices.
Marketplace controls for brands, providers, geos, and cost management.
Large parcel, white glove, scheduling, and in-home service moments.
AllModern physical store exploration and brand experience alignment.
A Service Marketplace Is Born
What changed
Wayhome
After building the Service Marketplace, the next opportunity became clear: create Wayfair's native assembly and installation service network, reducing third-party dependency. That vision expanded into Wayhome, a dual-sided platform with provider sourcing, background checks, geo-targeting, scheduling, support, and a pro-facing app.
Piloted in a single city in 2019, Wayhome grew into a nation-wide business unit that reached $100M+ annual revenue by 2023.

Large Parcel experience
Wayfair's large parcel business (heavy-weight and bulky items: beds, couches, dressers, etc.) was under pressure from inflation and macro-economic headwinds. Executives prioritized it as a CEO-level initiative because, while large parcel represented only ~5% of orders, it drove roughly 25% of global revenue and had historically been a key differentiator versus competitors.
Cross-Funnel Improvements

AllModern Physical Store
Facilitated a week-long design sprint and stakeholder summit to align research, operations, and brand vision for the first AllModern physical location. The team created a unified vision addressing customers' emotional, physical, and aspirational needs for home shopping.
The AllModern store launched on schedule and validated broader physical retail expansion, including Wayfair's IKEA-style flagship in Chicago.
Beyond product
Leadership meant more than shipping features. Christopher intentionally built conditions for teams to excel by embedding mentorship, community, and team-health practices into day-to-day operations: structured mentorship cycles, a global design help channel for peer problem-solving, cross-functional community-building, and ongoing leadership coaching. These practices strengthened collaboration, accelerated delivery, and improved retention—and are presented as core components of the product and organizational outcomes below.
